Here is just a small sampling of resources I visited when I started my journey to learn more. These are some great websites to start your own research and learning.
This is where I started on my journey to Costa Rica for stem cell treatment. Cell Medicine advocates the use of autologous stem cells as they have no ethical or moral issues and pose no possibility for rejection since they come from the patient. According to various studies, stem cells isolated from a patient (i.e. from the bone marrow or fat) have the ability to become different cell types (i.e. nerve cells, liver cells, heart cells, and cartilage cells). Studies have also shown that these are capable of "homing in" on and repairing damaged tissue. Cell Medicine only advocates the use of stem cells derived from the non-controversial sources: bone marrow, muscle, skin, fat and blood.
The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. MS stops people from moving. NMSS exists to make sure it doesn't. They help each person address the challenges of living with MS through the 50-state network of chapters. The Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
MSWorld provides support and information about living with Multiple Sclerosis. MSWorld offers chat, message boards, a resource center, an online magazine, and most importantly, a community of people who share your daily challenges. All volunteers who manage the MSWorld website are also diagnosed with MS. They understand what it means to live with this disease. MSWorld is unique because it has been a Patients Helping Patients organization from its inception in 1996. We are committed to helping people out of isolation via the Internet to seek the best quality of life possible.
